has anyone done this before?
my rev counter doesnt work because of the type of engine management i have so bought a stack tacho, so was thinking about taking the original clocks to pieces and drilling a hole where the original rev counter is if it wont fuck up the dash completely to keep the standard look.

Be aswell mount it on the A-pillar, drilling the clocks will just be a mess

surely itll work as long as you conect the rev counter wire off the ecu to the rev counter.

ellis- its a bit big for the a pillar i think mate, might offer it up to see how it looks though
12vmatt- got it all connected up mate but theres problems with the signals. Something to do with the standard one wanting a ignition signal but the ecu sending another sort.

you any idea about the internals of the clocks. im thinking its just gonna be a coiled spring to operate the needles maybe??? all the information is carried to the appropriate places by the printed plastic on back?

u shud be able to take the internals of the original out, and its just a case of mounting the other inside, but aslong as the stem for the needle pokes through and is central u shud be fine,

what engine management do you have, you may find that the corsa clocks require a stronger signal than the management will supply, could be simply a case of amplifing the signal, or run a wire from the clocks green wire to one of the ignition ouputs on the ecu.
never had a problem getting the clocks to work on a corsa before.
