thought so. in regards to the cambelt i thought early engines (which obviously need an early cambelt on them) had rounded teeth and the late ones had square? is this right?

thanks one last question do the early ones have certain plug covers out of the 2? eg http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/mods/2Lconversion/b002.jpg / http://www.xstyle.co.uk/media/DIR_55497/Engine~20XE~04~-~13-01-06~x.jpg
or is that purely just what vauxhall slapped on it at the time

Second one isn't a standard plug cover. Late engines can also have Coscast heads.

Aye, theres COSCAST dizzy and dispak heads. There different as the dispak ones have two bolt hole lugs on the side of the head for the dispak mount.
The late coscast heads are very rare, and said to be the best of all std xe heads by a lot of people.
