hey guys, my car has started making a noise when driving, its like a knocking noise as tho sumat is hitting the wheel as it goes round but, it only does it if im at a constant speed or if im slowing down, and it doesnt do it all the time, and wont start untill after bout 5mins of driving, any ideas what it is? ive checked round the wheel and shaft and nothing seems to be touching it, you can feel it thru the throttle pedal but not thru the steering wheel.

engine maybe on its way out, bottom end bearings?

 best not be. we drove it all way back from york to rotherham then to nottingham then back to rotherham, and then drove it round abit more then its suddenly just started doin it 1 day

oh and also it started after i took the wheel off to check disc brake, so cud it be sumat ive done? cheers

Could be the 'box possibly.
But as youve taken the wheel off, whip it off again and have a real good inspection around that area, and give everything a good clean up.

Gearbox if i'm not mistaken.
What exactly were you doing when you were checking them?
