is their anyway to start a car if it has a imob but you don't have it?
im getting a new one from vauxhall in 2 weeks but i just want to see if i can start it

Def a no no, car will just stall then wont turn over. If your imob is up the creek so is your wallet. Think you can get them from the scrappy but it needs ECU, Transponder (i think which is around the barrel) and the matching coded key for that car. Tbh i think its best to just stick with Vauxhall garages fitting a new one or a very good garage. Even tho backstreet garages are cheaper its not always the best outcome as im sure many have found when trying to get a complicated problem fixed.

its going to cost me £150 to get one and then get it coded in at vauxhall plus 30 to get it to my nearest vauxhall garage

Go to scrap yard.
Get ECU, Transponder (On Ign Barrel), Key from a corsa with the same engine as yours.
Swap the Transponder and ECU from your car then take the chip out the new key and put in into your key.
Sorted and cost <£50
