As per title!

Need to remove the black aircon box under the dash for tommorow morning!

Engine is still in, box is loose, but joined in by the silver pipes in the engine bay.

Is it safe to just hack them up/off so i can remove it?

I was just worried that if i hack the silver pipes up, the air-con would release some dangerous shit?

How do you de-gas? Is it easy to do? Or a specialist job?

You use a special machince unless anyone one else can think of another way to do it?

If not then it is a specialist job!

Just find the valve under the bonnet, should have a black plastic cap on it, and there is a valve like a tyre one. Stand back and push it with a screwdriver, wait till its all gone and you should be ok.

But watch out as its very cold! Froze my leg one with that gas, had a bruise there for ages.

Its illegal to intentionally release it to the atmosphere apparently.

Having said that you can try pressing in the center of one of the valves used to re-gas it, they're like a tyre valve but wear gloves because it might get a bit cold.

or slowly cut into it and as it starts hissing leave it until its done

Anyone got a pic of the valve?

If not, tommorow im gonna slowly pierce the pipes and let it hiss. But i will catch the air in a vacuum and dispose of it correctly.

Ahh i see, i think i have found it.

Easily visible in engine bay, unc-screw black cap and theres a threaded hole? Im guessing thats where they re-charge your air-con / drain it?

Then of course you will take your jar of captured refrigerant to a suitable disposal point so as to not damage the environment

I didn't know that before undoing the bulkhead connectors on mine and letting the gas get out overnight
