Just need some advice really on what companys are good and what arent, ive been told to take some responsibilty at home and as the house insurance is up for renewell ive decided to pay for it instead of paying rent for food. ive been getting quotes around £300, ive been putting in building and contents cover and accidental contents cover as well, would you reccomened haveing accidental building cover as well or not? thanks

I'm with Paymentserve..
Building and contents for £24 a month, that includes upto £1m on building and 40k on home insurance.
I suppose its your own personal preference on accidental covr...

I have contents only for £8 a month as I rent...building insurance is down to the LL...

cheapest ive got is £324 b&c cover with accidental cover on building and contents and credit card fraud and some other stuff, i tryed moneysupermarket and i dont really rate them as i phoned up one company and they said that its an incorrect quote given

Try the AA, the re-build cost is unlimited and inc accidental damage for the building, and also contents accidental damage is standard but soft furnishings and household goods is seperate but covers everything incase of peril eg flood and so on!
I would and wouldn't suggest moneysupermarket.co.uk
Yes because you can get a generally good idea what you can expect to pay for.
But a majority of times can be misleading due to excesses eg voluntry & compulsary excesses combining them etc!

Think I pay £363 annually for buildings and contents with Halifax.
Covers my push bikes up to £2k as an extra.
