I'm currently renting a house and I'm not sure about the landlord's insurance on the house. Anyway, I would like to insure my personal belongings. Is this possible and how does it operate? (if I move house etc...)
Any useful input appreciated

most home insurance packages cover both Buildings and Contents cover. For instance I'm covered up to a certain amount for building claims and then £30k (rising by 10k a year if I don't claim) for Contents.
Barclays let you tailor your insurance so you only pay for what you want. i.e they do optional garden contents cover and home emergency etc...
Ring a few of them up and see what they can offer you. It might also be worth clarifying with the landlord to see what you're covered for at the moment.

I renewed my contents insurance yesterday. Up to £50K. £15 per month
If you move, you just change the address.
