i see someone has said sumit bout fitting fast road cams, didnt wana intrude on there thread...
anyway.. after some fast road cams for the x16xe have a tight budget, can i get my standard cams reprofiled to fast road? and how much can i get them done so its still safe without the valves hitting pistons? cheers

I know virtually nothing but, i don't see how you could lengthen the duration of them and you couldn't improve the lift either... But i know nothing as i've said lol

you can get your cam's reprofiled, they weld them and then grind them to the correct profile.. Kent and piper do this for you.. Or you can get new ones from blanks from newman cam's or auto sprint.. Or there are some people on this site that may know of other people that can do this..

they don't weld them they just regrind yours to the spec that you want.

they dont weld them to make the lobes bigger they remove material from the opposite side to make the difference bigger which = more lift

How do you "set up" cams?
I take it you cant do it your self in your garage?
ie: Take it to a profess garage + pay for it to be done?

It all depends how far you want to go, you can get them made up to fit your verniers, and just time it up as usual, or you can buy some adjustable verniers and get the cams dialled to get max gains in which is really specialists stuff, rr, ect.
