not really worth trying as you'll just end up spending lots of money for no real noticable difference.

stick with de-cat, and an exhaust system. if your feeling brave try a 1.4 16v conversion with a manifold, de-cat, full system, filter and maybe a chip/ecu tweak. then you'll feel a lot more difference!!

you could try making your own decat, on a 1400/1600 cc exhaust the inside diameter between 50mm to 62mm, if your 1.4 has a 4 to 1 exhaust manifold then you could change to a 4>2>1 exhaust manifold and the down pipes to match that exhaust manifold

ooh this is getting good.

seriously, save your money and time untill you have a decent engine worth tuning. enjoy the cheap insurance/running costs for a bit. then get a 20seh or 20xe.

Its a spi so your failing before you even start. At least if it was a mpi it might have a chance but even then your wasting money on an inferior engine.

Also filter an exhaust will do naff all and your insurance will probably be more if you tune your engine as opposed to just swapping it to a bigger one.

how is the spi/mpi wasting money on a inferior engine, if you can get the parts from the scrap yard fit them your self and even do the tuning as well money saved
