How much does a new head gasket kit cost for a 1.2 16v ecotec engine?

just asking as i think mines gone as ive lost a bit of water in the header tank and got a little bit of mayo on oil cap

usually you get a bit of mayo this time of the year. wipe it off and see! also check for oil in the coolant.

ok ive topped the water up and wiped it off already !!!

would it be alrite to take for a little drive and see if the mayo comes back?

the mayo may come back due to condesation. keep an eye on the coolant. you could just have a leaky hose. i wouldnt really say head gasket had gone. have you noticed the engine running rough lately??

yeh engine was little bit rough yesterday when i was on my way home from the gym

best thing i can say it keep and eye on your levels check for mayo around by the dipstick from the sump also check for oil in the coolant. if your worried about the engine stop and get towed!

It will be ok to take for a run. Top it up mark the level
Wipe the cap off
Go for a drive check the heaters are blowing warm
Check the temp doesnt go too high
Get home park over a dry part so you can see if its leaking
Check your water
Check for mayo

As said above it is common to get small amounts of mayo at this time of year.even more so if its been stood for a few days

well its used as a daily runner so it hasnt been stood about, but ill take it out now as see if it comes back

Short journeys may also create more condensation than normal too

You have just answered my problems!! lol i just thought my headgasket had gone... mayo under the oil cap... i thought the worst, but i will take your advice and see how it goes!!

LOL, i am hoping that it is just condensation, i dont fancy having to get the head skimmed and everything else, its a pain in the arse!
