no they did a wide block 1600 in the astra...

you can get a small block in them too

nova is the safest bet

or old astra

corsa didnt have 1600 8v as far as im aware

redtop bottom end is the same as a 2.0l 8v, i would have thought the 1.6 16v bottom end is the same as a 1.6 8v

gsi 8v was a nova

i race 1600 SE engines on a hot rod and the 1600 XE bottom end is different it fits but isn't as good the carnk is different dirrerent pistons etc

and we also ru redtops and the 2.0 8v's in ither formulas and again there not 'the same' they fit though
