... because when I pull the petrol pump trigger over a quarter of the way, it cuts out . Therefore all that comes out is a measly dribble!! I have to stand for 5 mins just to put a tenner in!

I've tried inserting the nozzle at all different angles and different pertrol stations but i have no joy ! I'm suspecting that something is lodged abit further down, therefore it's spraying back at the nozzle, thus it cutting out. The small flap that covers the hole is missing, perhaps that's what's stuck inside?

Has anyone had this problem before? How easy is it to get to the fuel tank, or replace the pipe?

Thanks!
George

On the other hand you could say it makes it more painful, watching the £££'s go up and up

I like your positive thought though!

its a common fault, its that little plastic part just inside the filler neck that stops you putting the wrong type of fuel at the fuel station has broken and fallen down the filler neck

Yes

I vote that option. But as others have said the little flap has most likely gone down the filler pipe. I had the same on my gsi never got round to fixing it.
