Author 1.0 gearbox on 1.4 16v with the 1.4 shafts, why wont they go in the box?

i have just fitted a 1.0 gearbox (which i believe to be a f13cr) to my 1.4 16v sport. it seems like the shafts wont go all the way into the box and it keeps popping them out. other than the circlips, what can it be? do the 1.0 and 1.4 driveshafts differ at all?

1.0L gearboxes are usually F10's iirc.
F13Cr's were for 1.4 8v's, may have come with 1.2's also.

The should be the same, I had a F15 box on my 12v without changing the shafts so I dont see what the prioblem is.

The shafts should be the same, give them a man push!

managed to get them right in but they wont lock in place, they will just pull out very easily?

any ideas why? im certain theyre different shafts
