I have a folder for music and one for films etc. On XP I had this setup so it was grouped individually alphabetically. Windows 7 however puts them in groups of A-H, I-P etc. I rember having a quick paly with Vista and it did this. There seems to be no obvious way to get it so each group is an individual letter. Very stupid

Is there a way?

I'm on Vista and have looked through the list under More... but nothing looks like it'll do what you want I tried a few likely looking ones out and they didn't work.

What I usually do it type the letter you want and it'll go to it

Yeah I know the type the letter trick just seems retarded to have those groups above and not the option of individual groups

I'm actually quite liking 7, I hope the version I have installed is good to keep. There is just a couple of things so far that bug me such as that folder grouping

I've been very happy with it since I changed the taskbar to act nearly like vista and got messenger to minimize properly.

Surely it won't be grouped at all then?

But I want mine grouped by name in Individual Letter groups - A, B, C etc. Not like how 7 groups them A-H , I-P etc

Would help if i read your original post Yeah i don't think that is possible - although surely switching grouping off and then sort it by Name (click on Name) would work as it'll arrange directories alphabetically, just means the listing won't be split......
