think you need the spacers but ive heard of guys just ditching the anti roll bar. Think it helps eliminate understeer by letting the front suspension act independantly

Yes, and I've had nothing but fucking hassle. I'm on my 3rd pump, umpteenth belt and 2nd pump-cooler braided pipe.
You can get the pump in with the ARB fitted if you remove the driver side wheel. Mine's running what I think are standard spacers, can't see why you would be having a problem. Would you be able to take a couple of pictures?

hmm i cnt really see n e other way of gettin round this without either ditchin the arb or gettin a different bracket that sits the pump an inch higher coz atm i cant get the ARB on coz it hits the bottom of the pump :@
its annoyin coz i could hav changed the rack to a non powersteerin one while the engine was out but now its all in and fitted i wont be changin it, so i need to get this sorted, n e ideas?

yes two pipes, mount it infront of the battery just a 12 volt system, just use a switch on the dash to turn it on and off, uses electric pump fluid
