hi all i am doing a 2.0 conversion on my corsa and currently looking for the engine... i have found quite a few 2.0 16v ecotec engine's out of calibra's etc... has anyone got one of these in there corsa?? does anyone know how reliable they are and are they just as quick as the 2.0 xe?

Go for the X20XEV, its stronger than the XE but doesnt give as much power..

The 2.2's (X22XE, Y22XE) are about the same as the XE when it comes to peak power but its availble much lower down the rev range.

hmm ok mate cheers.. so the ecotec is a no go? i really want the let engine but i cant seem to find any that are half decent.. does anyone rate the astra 2.0 8v GTE lump?

The 8v's apparently are good on fuel, and strong engines

are they pretty nippy to as that is the main reason i want to change.. i want moooorree power!!!

Be different, go for the 2.0 or 2.2 eco and put a project thread up.

Yes X20XEV is the Ecotec with the girdled bottom end and two piece sump

I'm currently looking for a frontera 2.2 to utilise the engine.

the X22XE is nippy enough in a frontera.
Imagine it'd be good fun on an f16 in a corsa
