They are fine, but if you hit a big bump in the road there's a chance they could bottom out. That's why it's advised to buy updated shocks.

Also, you probably won't notice any difference in ride height with that kind of drop. You need atleast 40mm with shocks to start noticing.

mine was down -60mm on standard shocks for a while, it was fine, but very bouncy.
although i do recommend uprated dampers as well, because they make so much difference in the handling

So i guess the jury's out on this one. New shocks it is then i suppose.

40mm drop "Jakey"? Would love to, only we have ride height, noise and emission laws here.

1. The vehicle shall be no lower than 100mm from the ground to the lowest point when driving. (catylitic converter on my "B" which is already sitting at about 120mm). Plus, my front end at 138mm "standard" already scrapes.

Measured with an empty car mind you

2. To be deemed roadworthy, the vehicle shall be fitted with a catylitic converter

3. Vehicles produced after 1989 shall be no louder than 90db when driving. 95db for pre 1989 which relates to the de-cat to achieve extra clearance issue
