from a 1.4 8v...don't expect to get massive performance gains, 5hp maximum I would say. IF anything. basically your car will sound a lot louder because harmful exhaust gases are being moved away from the engine quicker without gay filters in the cat).
sounds fun to me.

you will need a cat come mot time as you got to have one by law(if the car was built after 1992) and your car wont pass the emissions test keep that in mind, i'd just stick with a removable de cat tbh

I've got a decat pipe on the XE, and after speaking to my local friendly MOT tester he's happy to put it through - he did however mention that it's does next to fuck all to improve the power of NA cars.

Ive heard of people getting through MOT with a decat, but recently my old corsa failed due to emmisions since the decat was fitted. May not be related to the cat though, could just be another problem.
My car was made without a cat

if you have a dissy xe then you dont have to have a cat as normaly thy are pre 92 engines
a lot of decent mot testers will pass a corsa xe with a de cat as they cant be bothered going through and checking the engine code and finding out wether its a pre 92 or a post 92 engine.
if your car is made without a cat then it has different emmisions test to one that does i.e. they are alowed to have a higher reading than a cat'd car,
my old xe had as low emmisions as my 14xe with a cat
and if you read back on what you said fella you said tht your old corsa failed recently on emmisions after you fitted a de cat... means it had a cat dont it?
