Car has have the stench of petrol for months, today went to change the plugs and they are COVERED in oil, the ht leads themselves are dripping, and can't even see top of plugs there is that much oil.

Now this is more than likly the cause for overfueling I should think.

Question is why are they covered in oil? would it likly to be rocker cover gasket?

Wont be overfueling, if the plug tips are black, there is a sensor fault, or its just due to the car being last run cold.

Smell of fuel, will be a breather somewhere.

Well chnanged gasket, and plugs now very nice and dry.
Cr is no longer overufelling so far, as I used to get a strong smell of petrol when starting car, or after boting it.

AW06 dad said same as you, but seems to of sorted itself now, which I'm not complaining about.

Thanks all!

A sensor fault would likely cause Over/Under fuelling

Remember the Plugs are in the combustion chambers, so anything that is evident on the plugs suggests combustion issues, ie misfiring or over/underfuelling - you should determine this issue first before looking for a cause of the fault which could be a sensor etc
