anyone had this problem and know a way to solve it, i've heard of people cutting old tyres and sticking it to the axle but are there any others things that can be done?

Mine was catching my axle when i put my sportex centre section and backbox on, i gave a guy who works near my brother £5 to heat the centre section with oxy/acetylene and bend it a bit to lift it away.

Failing that i've got a piece of a mountain bikes tyres cable tied to the axle

try turning the exhaust rubbers round so they hold the exhaust a bit higher

I cut up an old exhaust rubber and tied it over the axle, worked pretty well

You may be able to stop it by loosening the clamp off and twisting the box a bit and/or pushing it on a bit further. If not then there's always this:

As said, Try turning the backbox or the centre section, if not, do the rubber trick. Anything rubber, I used steering rack mounting rubbers.
