Hi

X16XE engine and was looking at blankin off the egr and was wondering whats required

I know blankin plate and that is that all?
and does it work engine run fine?
any power gains?

any help appreciated thanks

You can do it with a piece of can from a tin of juice etc.Just cut it out to the same shape and stick it inbetween the gasket and the egr valve.

Engine only feels smoother, no power gains and you need to keep the egr plugged in when you put it back on.

Just saves alot of future hassle.GF'ster was having alot of bother with her Mk4 Astra 1.4 16v and it kept coming back with EGR related codes and was running shite now and again.So i blanked it off and all has been well since.Deffo worth doing.

Vauxhall tend to do it too when they get cars in with EGR problems.Some can be deactivated via the Ecu and others need a blanking plate.

helps with emmissions though

Did mine, horrible to get to but does increase low range torque and emissions.

Done mine the other day, its not as hard as people make out as long as u have the right tools my car runs and driver loads smoother, partly because mine wasnt plugged in, in the first place lol
