My laptop has stopped working, I went on here on Monday and clicked the Paddy Power link in the Ryan Giggs thread then went on to Sky Sports. Screen went black then it turned itself off.

When I turned it back on it said it needed to repair and I had the option of loading Windows or the recommended fix.

Loading Windows gets stuck at the icon and just says loading

Recommended setting goes to a grey box with a blue background and says attempting repair and a blue bar scrolls across the screen. I left this over night and it was still scrolling across the screen in the morning with no signs of any progress.

I have tried going in to Safe Mode and it attempts the second option above and I end up in the same situation.

My mate gave me an ultimate boot up disc but that doesn't do anything.

I don't have back up discs either as everything was preloaded.

Any ideas?

You tired running the disc from start up, making the CD/DVD drive 1st priority instead of HDD?

Tried, it goes through the recommended option.

Blue fancy background, grey box and it says attempting to repair. Can leave it for hours and it still says same thing.

I feel partly responsible. However I deny all culpability, and pass on my sympathies
