doing a splitter its bin sanded but its not completly smooth if you get my drift

4000 will be too fine then, it will hardly do anything lol, id probably use 400 or 600

4000 will be like a sheet of paper mate

4000 is more for polishing fisheyes and blemishes out

personally if its really rough i'd use 280, 320 then 500 or there abouts
