Why would you like it a bit cooler?

Yes it would make it cooler and not heat up properly

Fresh coolant.

Engines run at an optimal temperature. Oil flows better, fuel burns better etc. If you make it cooler, you take away its set values. Fuel economy goes down and you'll regret it on a winter morning when your heater won't blow warm

Mine sits at about 82 all I did was get a cool running stat! Fresh water and coolant mix and bleed it properly. In traffic so far has only gone up to 90 lol

I agree with music1990. My 1.6 8v gets half way across the 'C' and the heaters run only just warm

Fan switch is bodge, and there is no need for the engine to run cool at all, same reason a "cool running stat" is stupid imo too.

Cold oil is bad for a engine, its bad for fuel economy and no need for a cold engine.

Most engines run at around 90C do they not? And fun kicks in just before 100C

You'll find most modern cars run at 85-95 degrees but the ECU just averages out the values to make the gauge show 90 all the time. Every car since my Corsa has done that, even the MX5

If you make it run cooler your MPG will plummet.

My old corsa derv ran cold all the time and cost a pissing fortune to run
