Im trying to export a Microsoft SQL database to a .sql file and really struggling.

Its using an express version of SQL, along with the management studio software, but as far as I can see, the only backup type I can use is a .bak

Does anyone know if its possible?

You don't mention which version of MSSQL your using. This may come in handy though:
