Right decided to move away from Android to an I phone but I am not sure how to transfer my contacts over from my HTC Hero.

All my contacts are saved as google contacts which is synced with my google mail account.

Any ideas as I really dont want to go through putting every number in!

simples

set your gmail account up on your phone in the mail options as an exchange account rather than a gmail account, sync contacts

Or do what my wife once did, write down all your contacts' names and number on some sheets of paper and type them all in on your new phone manually!
