hi, when i got my car about 7-8 month ago the chod i bought it off had bought it slightly modded and hadn't a clue about what was done, claimed it had gsi calipers on, i said "gsi what?... corsa?" he said "norr i dina, just gsi"

anyway they were almost due a change and the discs were a little warped as when i brake hard the steering wheel wobbled (i know thats not necessary the problem but...) so i changed the discs and pads with mintex ones (256x20, recommended for corsa gsi's and 1.6 sports) and the wobble had stopped.
they havent been on very long and i havent done a great deal of miles with them and the wobble has came back when i brake hardish

is it possible the callipers are for 2.0l as there's only 4mm difference in the disks and ive been running the discs for a 1.6? is that actually possible or not??

should i buy some 2.0l discs and slap them on? still loads of meat on the ones at current

anyone got the part numbers for the two different callipers please?

please help me

Jed

Post a pic of your calipers. Should be able to tell pretty easy.

2.0 calipers normally have "Ate" on them. Not sure if 1.6 calipers do mind you.

Actually, the pads wouldn't have fitted if you had 2.0 calipers.

Discs dont warp. It's 'residue' of your pads.

Take a wire brush to your disks and get some new pads in there.

and can it be confirmed that they are 1.6 callipers, think they are..

the wobble seem to of died down a bit but its the fact i know its still doing it so i took them off again and done the same thing. still doing it slightly under HARD braking

They are 1.6 calipers as the gap in middle is narrower on the 2.0 calipers can send you a pic of 2.0 ones if you like to show?
