Ha, you wont give up will you Beardy, Im concidering it but still waiting 4 you 2 take me out in yours, when r you coming.

PS:I have a feeling the engine i bought from scrappers might b 1.4 16v eco and not 1.6 16v eco is there an easy way of telling without scrumaging about looking 4 it printed on head.

They look exactly the same, cybermonkey is wrong.

You will have to check the engine number. Its the only way of telling I think.

If you look to the right of the dipstick, where the block joins the engine, on the flat slopped edge the engine number is stamped.

Its hard to see it though!

Or you could take the head off and measure the pistons!

If you give me the ecu code I should be able to tell you, thinking about it.

rocker cover on the 1.6 is slightly larger than that of the 1.4! only just though, my mates 1.6 was a slight different curved edge to my 1.4 too!

Thats nothing to do with the engine size, thats a production variance.

Hows the rocker cover larger? The heads are the same size on them both.
