Hey guys, wondering if someone can help me with a topic i'm not to sure on.

I produce in Ableton, and currently running this (Zoostorm Desktop PC, Intel Pentium Dual Core Sandybridge G840 2.8Ghz, 8GB RAM) on a Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2PV Motherboard. Link .

I'm creating bigger projects now, and constantly getting CPU dropouts when hitting more than 50 channels. I do freeze channels, and export as audio, but i'm looking to upgrade so i wont have to do this as much.

I'm on a budget, so my question is, will i be able to put a I5 or I7 into this? Will i need a new power supply? Or anything else?

This I5 seams a good upgrade but unsure if i'm able to fit without any problems.

Also the Intel Core i5 3570K

Just don't want to fit the chip and then have problems down the road

Hope someone can help

i5 3570k is socket FCLGA1155, motherboard is LGA1155, so there should be no problems.

Also, why not just get a cheaper i5 2500k and overclock it?

Edit: the 3470 will also fit fine as its socket 1155.

Thanks for the reply

My budget is about £130, i suppose i could stretch to £150 so thats not out of the question

What about power issues? I know these I5 use more power, will i need a new power supply? Sorry, i'm not quite sure how it all works
