I have fitted a JR air filter and a 3" cold air feed and my performance seems to be really flat mid range.
I have been told to fit a Boost Valve and a Eco Tec Valve, can you fit these together and would it work.
1.4 16v on a 99'

a guy on here did a test on a rolling road on his 1.4 16v that has had some engine mods.
with a induction kit it made 110 bhp, with a drilled airbox it made 114 bhp and with a viper kit it made 119 bhp. there is prove that induction kits loose power, they suck in all the hot air from the engine bay.

here u got, cut and pasted from another post
hey, sorry i never got on last night. Had to play loving fiancee.
Anyways. John, The operator and myself did three runs last night.
One with a normal k+n Induction kit
One with the piperx viper kit
and one with the drilled airbox.
The air box modification consisted of drilling the airbox to fcuk. Swiss cheese like. lol
1st run gave the viper = 119bhp
2nd run gave the K+N = 110bhp
3rd run gave the panel + box = 114bhp
there ya go. The modded airbox performes wonders. MILES was correct in sayin that the airbox does our perform an induction kit.
Ok, the viperkit works well but its far more expensive and if i didnt own ma shop then there is no way that i would have paid the money piperx want for one.

I think you first would have to build aluminium heat shield or carbon fibre and store your air filter in there then have a fucked off air pipe going into it from a cold air source!

Agreed, get a decent cold air feed, fit it to a inlet on your front bumper, its bit more responsive when this is done!!!

Umm, what else is going to give 5bhp over the airbox for £250?
