if you remove the cat it will rev alot free-er dunno about gains though. my mate has a tuned 306 d turbo and i used to have a 106 quiksilver and that was faster than my mates 306 which had turbo boost turned up and fuelling up, although neither could lose oneanother. only time he beat me was up a hill, lol thats where the torque of the diesel helps.
anyway i reckon you will get done by a 100bhp one but the 75bhp one i reckon you will beat off mark but you wont lose him or vice versa.
only one way to know for sure, Race him!
where abouts in leeds you from anyway? you ever go to pontefract or brighouse?

im not suprized, it has 64 bhp. its lacking a turbo.
as for a tuned up 306 dt not wooping a 1.4 75 bhp no torque quiksilver, please stop joking mate, not a hope.
u can get a 159 bhp chip for the 1.9 tdi pd 100, let alone the 130 or 150 model, they can produce silly torque and power figures.
yes Kris thats the point i was making, they are good engines and depending on what tune u want they can be turned into beasts (280+ ibs torque anyone)??

Never is the answer. V5 golfs are petrol and TDi versions are all 1.9 and can be bought in 100, 115, 130 and 150 Bhp spec.
As for the 1.2 v 1.7
the 1.7 does 0-60 in 12.5 secs and 30-50(4th) in 8 secs.165nm @ 1800rpm
the 1.2 does 0-60 in 12 secs and 30-50(4th) in 8.5 secs.110nm @ 4000rpm

i thought 306td's were 90bhp standard? if so how could a 106 quicksilver keep up with one, let alone a tuned one?

Depends how old. If its a Hdi, that will be the minimum power output, its also availiable with 110 bhp i think.

I own a 1.7DTi corsa, there no where near 100bhp standard, only get to that once they have been remmapped if they are lucky, its around 73bhp as standard, ive remapped mine and added the dump valve so it does kicks the ass of the 1.2, although at one time the 1.2 would easliy kept up.
