Throttle bodies replace most of the inlet manifold and induction plenum and throttle body. Replaced with 4 throttle bodies, 1 for each cylinder, and fed from trumpets which suck the air in using a butterfly valve. They vastly increase the amount of air able to reach the engine. They are fairly expensive, and when you get over 200bhp, you have to uprate most internal parts with new pulleys pistons conrods etc etc. ITs possible to see a tad over 200bhp on the X16XE, and closer to 240 on the C20XE.

www.sbdev.co.uk create race-spec throttle-body engines for the X16XE and 20XE, mostly fitted to westfields.

Where did you get those figures from?
sbd's own westfield runs a 1.6 16v and has over 250bhp and they also sell kits for the c 20 xe that produce near enough 300bhp albeit at a very high price.
Andy hamiltons 1.6 16v corsa on this site produces over 200bhp

no i dont cost over 3k to set up and get running right
u buy what ever kit u want (around 2k) and fit it urself, then, what i would advise u do, is it take it for a rolling road session so they can make adjustments, about £70 odd
sbd wont fit the kits to ur car them selfs, its a diy job or get a machanic, or a few mates to fit it, its not that difficult, comes with instructions as well

thats not a throttle body kit is an inlet manifold. TBH the kit makes the 1.2 16v more powerful then the 1.4 16v.

the dbillas inlet manifolf costs 810pound and when fitted by regal included a re-map of your ecu.
After speaking on the phone to them some time ago they reckon u should easily be seeing 90-95ftlb torque and 95-100 bhp.
not bad for a 1.2. And with a few more mods u should be seeing 115bhp.

luca, I'd love to get a remap for £70! Can be fitted to 8v's, but the gains arent as good.
