it is drivin me crazy I have this rattling noise from my exhaust, so I though my was f#@ked up. but I got a ride in my friend's car, and his does the same could some out there PLEASE tell me what cause this and how to fix it. my friend and I would be so grateful. thanks

look under car at back.and probs best bet that exhaust clip is sitting on the axle mate!

or it could be the baffles in the rear box.

does it sound like a contact rattling noise, like 2 metal pieces rattling against each other?
just have a look under neath with engine off. then look again with engine on.
the clip or bracket mite be touchin.

No, it only rattle when moving from a stop or idling. So what is it please help!

Take a look at the back box, you'll normally see a cleaner area where any contact has rubbed.

Mine was doin the exact same. It was the centre section touching on the underside of the car. Think it's cos my exhaust is way heavier than the standard one and pulled the centre section out of place. Take a gud look under the car while its running cold and move the exhaust around till the rattling stops. That's if it's the same problem as mine!!!!!!

what about the metal lip on the back of the car are the prongs from the back box long coz they might be hitting that??

i had the same problem with my car, turns out the back box had rusted away and the centre section had come off its rubbers and the flexi bit on the cat has snapped  not a cheap job to fix

i still got a knocking noise as the bastards at quick fit put a 1.2 16v centre on my 1.0 12v by accident, i took it back the next day and they put some cable ties around the rubber clips to pull it closer to the top of the under car. (wont be doin that again)

i had that problem on my powerflow backbox. apparently it was just somethin inside the box so they took it off and shhok it out. all sorted now
