My car is driving me mad, right i was driving back from work i had been driving for about 10 minutes with no problems, came to a junction and tried to pull away in 1st gear but the car just kept jumping and hesitating, so i pressed the gas a bit more but it got worst, in the end i pulled over and the car cut out. I tried to start the beast again and it wouldn't ignite so i called the AA. It took them bloody ages to get to me and i was soaked coz it was pissing it down 
He tested the spark plugs they were fine, my fuel injection was fine. I had to get towed to a garage in the end as he didn't know the problem, he reckons it could be the fuel pump 
Does anyone have any idea? also how much is a new fuel pump?

Have you got the car there?????
To check the fuel pump, get someone to turn the ignition on, whilst you press your ears up as close as possible to that area (i.e. under the back right hand side seating). If you hear a noise or clicking etc... then its working.
Thot that was the prob with mines, but now think otherwise.

no its been towed to a garage mate.
The aa bloke said it wasn't pumping enough fuel but i think he was a bit unsure as well, he told me to get a japanese car then i won't have any problems.
I think i may do that once my car is fixed

check crankshaft sensor too mine did this

ok i will get the garage to check that, how much are they to be replaced?

that sounds like the crankshaft sensor like fadscorsa has already said cause that was wot was wrong with mine when it had similar systoms to yours
