Hey all.
I'm in the process of pricing the fitting of a Toyota 4AGZE based supercharger to my 1.4L 16v Corsa C engine. I'm looking for around 110kw @ flywheel with low boost (like really low boost until im confident with the strength of the engine).
Just wanting to hear what you have done and how your engines are coping with the modifications. Dyno outputs would be great if possible.
Also, Can anyone tell me what the output of the european Corsa C 1.4L engine is (i know what our Australian delivered version puts out, but the manual claims it will do more on premium fuels like that found in the UK, so I have been running it since I've owned it on premium... but have no idea just how much this actually increases the power).
Thanks everyone.

What have you done to acheive 200hp miles?
But yeah, my goal was 150hp for the engine (around 80% increase of power over standard), but as I said nothing has been done yet. Im looking into how well these engines respond to mods and how much this is all going to cost before I proceed with the project. Also, I emphasise 150hp will be only the initial goal with VERY low boost. If the engine is handling the power well enough I will then aim for a higher ouput.

go for a turbo gives you more headroom when it comes to power output

Indeed it does, but pure output isn't my goal at the moment. I'm just looking to make it a bit of fun, not a wild beast. Also, taking the supercharger route is MUCH cheaper... to the point where it is actually half the price (to do it properly).

The official figures for the 1.4 16v engine found in the Corsa r as follows:
SRi- 90bhp, 113mph and 10.5 to 62
Other 1.4 16v models- 90bhp, 112mph and 12 to 62
Hope this helps

I've got a throttle body set up with cams and headwork....
Turboing these engines is a lot of work, and will probably be unreliable, but if you get it right, it should be good.
Personally I'd got for the tried and tested throttle bodies. Depends if its the engineering project your after.....

Miles, what throttle body configuration did you do? Did you just use an enlarged single throttle body or quad throttle bodies or what? But yeah, I understand using forced induction will be a bitch, but if done correct It would produce a far better power curve (for supercharging anyway).

Dunno how it happended matey, i bought a fully re-built and modified C16XE engine only got 1500 miles on it, put it in and the engine was knackered, serves me right really. The bloke who had it said he was driving along and it suddenly went, wouldnt go above 60 etc, was told it was just hydraulic lifters which are easy to change so i changed them and that wasnt the problem

Go for it, be good to see someone doing somethign different.
Everything is 1.2 8v/16v, 1.4 16v, 1.6 16v, 2.0 16v over here. Although the 2.0 16v is quite fun, its a commen sight now.
Still, 155bhp, 145lb ft torque, £1500, not to be sniffed at
