Recently when I start my car I've been hearing a strange noise that sounds like running or bubbling water.
It seems to be coming from the front of the car tho I can't hear it outside the car or when I look in the engine bay (behind the dashboard?)
The noise runs/bubbles faster as the car revs or accelerates anywhere between 1k and 3k rpm, mostly from cold start or on any hill starts (cold or warm, up and down hill)
It also happend even if the engine is on and the car idles for a few mins, at traffic lights, junctions or dropping someone off etc.
It started after the car was serviced a few weeks ago but is happening more often now.
I've checked my water and oil levels or if the car was overheating, but it's not (infact struggles to heat over 92degree)
Could this be related to my EGR valve not being fixed yet?
Any ideas?

I had the same problem on my corsa. It didn't overheat. In the end it was the head gasket. But i've heard this could be other problems such as heater matrix.

if its an air-lock in the heater matrix just drain the entire system & refill it, run the engine with the cap off the header tank till it starts toi boil, stop running engine, let it settle, then top-up again, run it till it starts to boil (slightly) & stop engine, let it cool, top up if needed & put the cap back on.
but when I had these symptoms, my headgasget went about 2 months later.

I personally think it is a sure sign of the head gasket going
The reasons why it gurgles is because gases from the engine gets in to the expansion tanks through the head gasket, this therefore creates the bubbling sort of noise.
Sorry guys but if it hasn't gone now i reckon it will go within the next couple of months as it did with PaulW
Get a compression test done asap

If it was just an airloc\k it would eventually self bleed.
Everyone I have heard of myself included eventually had the headgasket go.

why would my headgasket go after 30k ?????
(ps the head has never been taken off)

I know mate its comming from behind the dash. Thats where mine was comming from. I didn't loose any water either and I didn't have any white crap on the cap. But when I had a compression test it came up that I needed a new head gasket.
Get a test done you will find out then

ok wll do cos i know all the signs off a gasket going don't always occur together. I had this last year in winter though so i doubt i would have been able to drive around for a year with a fucked head gasket

I originally thought it was an air lock thats why I went to the garage to see whether they could get rid of it as it seriously pissed me off. It was really strange as I had no signs of the gasket going so I thought the garage was trying to con me so I went to another but they confirmed the same thing.

self bleed?!?!? in a sealed pressurised system??
but i would agree on the head gasket, either get a compression test or check the plugs - if one of the plugs is sparkling clean then u've got a gasket problem, in effect its bascially steam cleaning the cylinder!!

Is it a corsa c? Because I used to have this strange sound of running water coming from my dashboard, sounded like it was around the glove box area. I took it back to Vauxhall and there was a problem by the bulkhead, something wasn't sealed properly and the water was running through the bulkhead and into the heater system. Apparently its a common fault. All they did was drain all the water out using a pipe and then sealed up the gap.

Sorry peeps, yeah it's a Corsa B non air-con
Shit hope it's not the head gasket That'd be all I need just now
Car does tick and rattle a lot tho, and lots of water vapour/steam out the exhaust.
Only 4 years ols and 43k miles tho.

Mine has done it for ages now, if it was the head gasket would it not have gone by now? I do about 12,000 miles a year. I'm getting a service very soon, i'll ask vauxhall to check it out. Mines only an S reg too. If it goes, fuck it, 2litre conversion is going in.
