Im thinking of lowering my car 60mm using Apex springs. I have 16" MM Evo's ET45 on at the moment. Do you reckon I will get alot of rubbing and how many problems will I get from this?
I dont want to end spending loads more repairing bits in a few months down the line because of lowering 60mm so do you reckon I should lower by 40mm instead?
Anyone lowered 60mm on 16's have any opinions?
Cheers. Dan.

et 40 16's was lowered 60mm on apex, but due to the fact the apex 60mm isnt anywhere 60mm i changed the rear springs, now got pi 60mm rear springs and apex 60mm fronts, no scrubbing ever, but then i idi do a fair bit of arch and suspention modification to stop them rubbing.

I used to have 16" MM EVO's in an ET45 and my car is 60mm front and rear and with 195/45/16 tyres it used to scrub on the top of the front arch going up a drive ways when i was on lock and it scrubed all the time when i hit bumps at the back with just me in. i think this is because there 7" wide and not 6.5" as they sould be, i have 6.5" wide rims on now and there is nothing at all wrong with it plus the handling has not changed and i do pound my car at track days

Alrite tomas mate, yeh there well worth the money. There brill. You can leave your braking so much later into a cornor than other cars, and i give it stick now and again and they've never faded mate. I got the 285mm origanally but they dont fit, the disk hits the arm going upto the track rod. I got the 300mm with the bell to clear this and i have no probs at all, although you r restricted to what 16" wheels you can have with the 300mm. 17" you'll have no probs.

Mine lowered 60mm with G-Max kit with 7x16 MM Evo 5’s on 195/45/16 tyres,

And with new 7x16 MM T12s with 195/40/16 tyres(well worht the money)

Got rubbing to start with, with 195/45 tyres cut back metal arch trimmed plastic arches and pulled arches out and now only get rubbing when I hit a big hump or bump, on the back I could go another 2-3 inches if I could

Nice that cheeky credit to you, but do you not find the ride harsh mate, i had 60mm G-Max on my old corsa sxi on alessio speedlines with 195/40/16 and it was a hard ride. mine is actually 55mm on Pi with koni's and the ride is quite good. I could do with the back end of my car being abit lower but as ive got it stripped out and just two seats theres no weight to settle it down.

Col004, so the 285's I wanted wouldnt fit anyway?? The discs hits the hubs? Thats mad as HiSpec told me they would fit no probs, i too am running 16's so maybe I could squeeze the 300mm's under their... Are you the guy that ordered the 285's from PVD, as Matt@PVD told me another lad with a Corsa couldnt fit them.

this is the best looking corsab ive seen to date. Them wheels are deadly!
I wouldnt go as low as -60 cos of the problems with rubbing
16's and -40 or 50
brilliant car.

Thanks
Col004: I did find the ride quite harsh yeh but it was worth it and i reckon the ride on thew 195/40 was better than the ride with 195/45, might just be me though
Got FK coilovers know and although im having problems with the front the ride is very very good and when i can get the front lower(dont know how:mad then i want the whole car about 20mm+ lower at back and 10mm at fron

What problems are you having? You just undo the lower spring platform with C-spanners and wind it down. If you find you are winding it right down and its not sitting any lower then its sat on the bumpstops and you'll want some slightly shorter ones. I think all the best corsa's are on 16's and slammed
Col004, there was a guy on here last week and he says he's running the HiSpec billets with 285mm discs and they fit on his corsa fine... I think Hispec may have adjusted their disc offsets and brackets as thats the only thing I can think?

Alrite tomas, yes that was probbably me they were on about at PVD, they told me that they would fit but i was fitting them my self and to get them on (To seat them propper onto the hud) i would of had to grinde a groove in the arm the goes upto the track rod and i was'nt doing that at all. They gave me good discount on the 300mm for the inconveniance which was good Pete at PVD said they fit on some corsa's and not others which i dont think is true coz my car is a 1999 V plate, a later model and my mates got a K plate earlyer model and theres no differance in hubs, HISPEC machine there 285mm disks from escort cosworth disks and drill the stud patern to suit. The 300mm are from a BMW were the centre is machined out to fit an anadise bell. Anyways at the end of the day there on afyter all that hasle and they work superb, but you make sure they fit behind the wheel before you spend. Pitty you live far away mate, id let you try a rim of yours over brakes.

there alessio speedlines mate, there the best wheel you can buy for a corsa, i had them on my old corsa, i went to buy them again for my new corsa but they wont go round my brake and im not parting with them so i had to get a different set of wheels
im happy with it though
