I have a Haupaugge WinTV PVR usb2, is there anyway of improving the live tv quality?
at the mo its quite good, but certain colours like skin, appear a bit wishy washy, and moving screens can deteriorate is there any way of improving the image quality?
its a bit annoying

k bought a scart to composite, seems a bit better, not getting the "digitized" effect of skin tones, moving images are still a little shadowy but its deffo an improvement

oh well, the problem is still ther and its bugging me too much, il send the pvr receiver back and go back to sky+ methinks, the video just looks like VCD on a bad day TBH, certain tones look like dodgy GIF's where the blending becomes pixellated, im not very impressed

Thats just what tv coming from the pc is goin to look like unfortunately.
If you play about with the display settings you can normally get either text or video looking good but not both.
I use my normal crt tv for watching stuff I dl but its useless for using as a monitor.

Settings would make a difference.
Why you using scart to composite on an lcd instead of vga or dvi?

let me check.... so many wires behind desk
no, now I'm using scart to composite (from decoder to pvr) then connect to laptop via usb, then image goes to LCD via VGA
watch it via WinTV 2000 with excellent viewing/recording image and sound quality.
Then I use my other scart to my LCD if I want to watch tv directly and record also...

no, from the software provided with the pvr?
there are some codecs maybe that need to be put in, direct show, the actual driver, etc...
But from an earlier post, i would say that it is hardware problem since you stated that when you changed the leads, there was an improvement
