hi, just a quick question, i need to fit my backbox but it doesnt have fittings, can i just cable tie it onto the car or will the backbox get hot and melt the ties?

will melt mate, go buy a clamp or get someone to weld a bracket on for ya.

yea i had a quick fix on mine the other day using cable ties and a quick blast up the M25 and they melted

tin foil....its used to cook things in so surely it would just melt it, for sake of 4/5 pints id get a proper bracket or get it welded

they dont melt!! i had my old backbox cabled tied on for a year, they melt a bit but if u use thick ones they work a treat

dont pass MOT tho.....suprisingly

if you needed to use cable ties for extra stability, you can buy steel cable ties that work a treat, try looking on ebay. i got some from on there before.

or just get an exhaust place to weld a couple of pegs on for a tenner and stop being so cheap

have it fitted proeprly for £10 - £20..
you will seriously get laughed at if your driving along and all of a sudden this cherry bomb falls off because of a bodge fit.
