Just had a call from Orange because i'm a "loyal customer".
Now, this is my first contract with them, an 18month one, which is ending in October. How the hell am I more loyal than the next guy with a contract? Just seems like over use of bollocks like "rewards" & "loyal" to me. He said the early call was due to my "loyalty", yet a good source (Jambo) already told me I can renew 3months early anyway. I mentioned that and he disagreed and said it's for "loyal customers only" OK.
Anyway...
He offered me a £5 reduction a month, same deal, plus free C902 + 8GB Memory Card.
So...
SonyEricsson C902
8GB Memory Card
600mins
Unlimited Texts
£30 a month
BUT, I had to sign up for another 18 months. So, that'd be 20months including the 2months remaining!!
He wouldn't throw in any data package no matter what, which I thought was shit. I said vodafone do and he started slating them for one reason or another.
What you reckon? I'm not too sure myself. 20months is a bit daunting

Is that the best they can do Jambo? Seems wank to me. He said they can't even do data at all. Best he could do was 4MB for £4. Fuck off!
Voda do 500MB free now dont they?

Best I can see on the o2 site s that phone, 600 minutes, 1000 texts and you can choose a bolt on, one of which is data, 35 quid though so disregard me.

Maybe it was a good deal. I've asked them to call back on Saturday so I can think it over. The guy sounded disappointed, especially after i'd kept him on the line for ages
I said "So, is it you who calls back?"
Him "No, someone else unfortunately"
Me "Oh, do you still get the commission then?"
Him "No, but it's swing and roundabout" then hung u p
Sound guy.

I'd be going against my principles tho
If you can match the deal and give me the 500MBs a month, then you can have my commission, Robbo. Oh, I want 12months too

Really? I even said on the phone that I was gonna leave and he still didn't budge. He gave me the old "I wish I could, I really do, mate"
My only concern about actually leaving is... Nobody gets reception who's on O2/Voda in my house for some reason? G/F has to leave her O2 mobile on the window ledge. My Orange phone gets full strength all the time, pretty much everywhere.

he wont have been working in retentions, which is the department you ring when you want to leave and its their job to make you stay.
He wont have had anything other than the std sales package to offer you, and seeing what he has confirms that

What realistically can they offer data-wise, Jambo?

What's the significance of it being the end of the month? Something to do with meeting targets?

Yeah, s'pose. What the amount of time you have to give them to cancel? Is it a over the phone only job?
Also, what is that number I need to transfer my mobile no. to another network?

So retentions hold ALL the keys then...
Are their powers endless then? It'd be ace if I could go into it knowing the restrictions put on that department.
