Long story short....
Got a contract with orange quite a while ago (18month) and got N80 with it, recieved everything fine until bill time. I hadnt got a bill through for the first 2 months, then the sim was cut off so foned up asking what was going on and was told theyre was a fraud hold on the account. seemingly orange had been sending my bills to someone in luton or some crap. so to sort it i had to send them a few utility bills and bank statements to prove my address. did this and never heard anything back so just left the fone in the drawer gathering dust. ended up selling it on ebay as faulty a few months ago seeing as it had been a while and didnt think id ever hear anything from orange, and hadnt had a bill through or any money taken from me in this time.
So opened a letter today from carphone warehouse to say it had been 20months and my old n80 must be old and dead and it was upgrade time. letter had the account mobile number on it and a reference code to give when calling about the upgrade.
So my point, do you think if i called up and tried to get an upgrade they would send one out. Or might they click on that the account is fecked and bill me for 18months usage that i aint had.

its very strange tbh, they didnt recognise the number at all, asked if i had ported or that and obviously hadnt as was just a new contract (well 20months ago) it was a weird situation from the beginning. the whole sending my bills to the wrong address.
im not fussed to be honest, just now i know i wont be charged for the 18month contract before

They probably deleted the account all that time ago when they thought it was a fraudulant connection. Would have been a fraud clawback for the dealer (presumably CPW) so would have thought they would have marked it on their systems and not sent out an upgrade invitation letter.
