f16 is the best for acceleration
f13 doesnt fit because of the shape of the bell housing iirc

Yes the smallblock gearboxes do fit with modification. Just fit the F20 and buy some conversion shafts

It will fit, the holes line up, you would need a 'custom' flywheel set-up though.
Think you also need to tweak a part of the inner casing?

F16 would take 160ft\lb of torque hence being called f16.A good box will be fine on a redtop

Custom flywheel? all you need to do is have the bolt holes on the smallblock flywheel re drilled to fit the redtop, any good engineering shop will do this for not a lot of money. My question is why would you want the F13 on there tho?
I looked at doing this on 1 of my novas but changed my mind!

Problem being you weakening/cracking it by drilling holes, and it then smashes in bits at 7000rpm.
NICE

I've seen them pics mate, most were of homemade lightened flys tho. Doing this is no different than redrilling 5 stud discs to 4 stud, cutting and re welding driveshafts, ect. All of which are perfectly safe if done correctly

Where has he stated 'without modification' as it isn't in the posts, nor does he say 'with modification'.

Rubbish.
If doing it properly you would do it with a lathe to ensure the holes are drilled on the correct PCD. It would not cause a flywheel to suddenly explode, a circular hole spreads force as it doesn't congregate at one point, like when people remove too much material from a flywheel or don't radius it (increases likelihood of failure) or take too much off to the extent they make it that thin that it cannot contain the rotating mass of the outer flywheel.

You wouldnt do it on a lathe imo would need to be done on a miller with a dividing head attachment, or a vertical cnc miller

contradicted urself abit there, if you can read he asks does a f13 box fit to a c20xe nothing else, so yes basically he is saying with no modification else he would of put that, so if your gona help someone answer the question correctly, praps u need to go back to school

He clearly asks why it wouldn't fit, so that to anyone who has attended school would deduce that he wants to know the reasons why - perhaps he is willing to modify it afterall eh?
