as stupid as it sounds but will my 1litre 3 cylinder corsa pass mot without a bac box ???? the guy i got it off has taken the bac box off and welded a pipe there insead so it still looks like its got a exhaust cheerz john

I wouldn't have thought so, but that's just my opinion not fact. If they do a proper MOT they'll be going under it as well by the way so your wee bit of pipe welded on won't fool them I don't think.

im a level 2 mechanic and personally i would of thort they would fail it but its not that loud and theres still a box in the centre box, without the bac box it just sounds alittle louder (beta) if theres any mot testers out there plz help lol

basically, if it passes the emissions. It doesn't matter 2 pieces of shit if it's a piece of pipe wielded on...at the end of the day, what is an exhaust? it gets harmful gases away from the engine, so a piece of pipe does the job. If it passes emissions, it's a win situation (as long as you have a de-cat pipe). lool

It'll fail as you need the exhaust to pass gasses out from under the car and not actually under it. They wont do an emissions test either.

theres still a pipe there all thats bin done is that the bac box has been taken out and a pipe welded in its place so it still looks like theres a bac box in place and t b fair its not that noisey t b honest i dont really like the car but its just sumthin t get me t work and bac

should be okay. I reccommend fitting a proper backbox at some time though, lol

To be honest, the guy was getting plenty of replies until chloe chipped in with her oh so ironic comment.
I could read it perfectly fine and even if I was annoyed I wouldn't go to the length of commenting on it.

I'd say you should get yourself over to an MOT station that isn't going to conduct your test and ask them. But at the end of the day it might be down to the tester's discretion.
