Just driving back from dinner with the mrs and my xe'd b has got a major issue, its become hessitant, no response to throttle, wont drive just comes to a standstill and missfirea its arse off.
A warning light comes on but then goes of. I got code 91 and 39 which all point to lambda?
The eml is now of but car wont drive at all just misfires wnt rev past 2000 n cuts out any ideas while i wait for recovery lol

Yeah but surely that wud cause it to run like it is doing if the lambda is at fault?

A dodgey lambda could make it run funny.
Earth Pin 20 to by pass the lambda, if it still does the same thing then, then it's probably not a lambda fault.
(only on the dizzy engine you can do that though I believe)

Earth pin 20 or get an fp ecu that bypasses the lambda sensor will save you alot of time trying to find the fault And it will run fine

Wires can break any when. I'd give it a good look over and fiddle to double check just to be sure

yeah will have a quick look tomorrow, it has to be a dodgy connection or wire issue as it just dies and runs like shit when its connected, but no warning light?

i think its your air flow meter!! usually lamda just throws the eml on and uses more fuel..... afm makes car stutter and hesitant/die etc etc

ok so checked wires all seemed ok, ran for abit now doing exactly the same, untill
i unplug lamba then runs fine?
no eml comes up when it dies. i didnt think a lambda had this much control?
everyone i speak to says at max it would be hard to start and use more fuel?

Right well a little update. The car now wont run at all, it manages about 300m then misfires no power and pressing the throttle boggs it down untill it stalls.
I unplugged the ecu and to my horror alot of water came out aswell as blue corosion on the bottom 5 pins near pin 20. I've split the ecu an all is ok on there from what i can see no corrosion or clouding.
The connectors in the ecu plug was bas bit i feel i have cleaned them good enough to work but it still wont run fully.
Could it also be wiring? What do the pins on the ecu control, pin 20,19 and 98,97 was definately affected bit so was 2/3 pins in the middle row (unsure or numbers?)
Any help is appreciated as is if it isn't fixed by the weekend im going to have to buy a ford!!

ive not got a clue about the ecu pins...
have you tryed the air flow meter?
ive never known a airflow meter to stop a car from running but it does make it boggy and hesitant
good luck with sorting it anyways... i wouldnt wish a ford on anyone

Don't forget a lambda fault code shows a fault along the system... E.g... Car running shit will be giving lambda shit readings, so ecu assumes lambda broke

Blocked sender? blocked pipe to fuel pump? If the fuel pump is buzzing louder, it would generally mean nothing is passing through it.

Right well another update, i removed the loom through the bulkhead to check all the wiring all seemed ok except my fan what i retrofitted.
Refitted the loom and now it wont start, the fuel pump relay is clicking bit i have no fuel or spark.
The blocked sender may be one cause but it ran before but i have no spark either?
Must be ecu surley?
