why is everyone obbsessed with jl's ?
no offence to any one whos got them but i think they crap , they cost so much money and the peak power etc is so low, for the price of jl's you could probley get 2 vibe 12" subs, and i would perfer vibe,
so what is it with jl then ????????

There is a lot more to ICE than how much power your sub can hold and how many subs you can buy for £x... I suggest you just stick to Sony tat...

yeah yellow top is what i got

my system will be as loud as yours , what are you running ? ive heard my mates xplods and they are loud as f**k , so im sticking with sony,
and jl's jsut look to plian jsut like the jbl subs .
did any1 wacth this weeks pimp my ride us , they put a mtx jack hammer sub in the car, was mad hit 130db

130db isnt overly impressive,

mine is loud SQ got focal K2P's and 2 RE 8" run by 2 audison amps, all top quality stuff, i just havnt ordered my battery yet, keep forgettingto, gettin it trade, whohooo

its was shit for one sub steves system which is now eds, was hitting 143/144 or sumfing like thatand thats only 1 sub, the 3carsin the pic i showed u above are all hitting over the excess of a 150db

i like they way you KNEW that yours will be louder when you didnt even know what he was running!

the Sonys will be loud yes but the quality will be shit and as for JLs looking plain then its a simply fact that rather than fancy expensive chavvy looking things they are kept plain but far superior!

But OBVIOULSY EVERYBODY else is totally wrong because your mates sounds soooooooooo good and know of us have loud or good sounding systems!

HOLLA ICE DAWGS...

m1ke - you need to get yourself down to a good local ICE dealer and ask them..

sony do make good ICE, mainly their top range CD PLayers.. and thats it

as for JLAudio - yeah there are some makes that are better.. but not many

Sony is not a good make for amps and subs (they are kinda basic) so they make them look all pretty instead..

the JL 15" W3 (which i had in my old install) was only 450watts RMS, this is classed as "True RMS" where as some companies boast huge RMS figures (they kinda give you a rough guestimate)

anyway.. i managed to hit 143.3 Db with this 1x 15" sub (was in a labrinth box (ish) )

but i did blow the shit outta the sud doing this

(cost me £380 to replace it at the time)

but it was a very good reading.. and the SQ wasnt too bad either, for a 15" sub

so my advice would be to get down to an ICE dealer (NOT HALFORDS)

and listen to some proper ICE equipment

no way can you say how good sony subs are then say JL's arent

and you do get the occasional halfords employee who knows what they're talking about

spot the odd one out. figure it out that the odd one obviously spend more on the asthetics than the actual mechanics of their subs, if something is well known and does the job then why does it need to look pretty? plus dont normally show off my boot cos i dont want my stuff nicked therefore sounds are better than looks.

sony better than jl dont make me laugh, go back to learning about quality mate.

Im sorry mate - can you see the subs in the above pics

Now Im not having a dig but giving advice - sell the Sonys and buy ONE of these. You will get a lot more interest in your install and you will be a much happier customer.

Even if you're going off aesthetics they look a thousand times better - heavy duty, fat surrounds for huge cone travel, solid construction etc etc.

By buying one of those (particularly the JL

) people will know you're serious and, properly amped up, you will get some big SPL readings (if thats what you want).

But hey, you cant say we haven't tried
