we used the 1.6 loom as it was already on the engine and theya re exactly the same as the 1.4.
i think all the earths are connected, i have ran a wire from the negative terminal on the battery to many places on the engine and it hasnt helped so i guess they are connected

i think they are the same as the ecu connectors are the same colour, i belive the ones with one knock sensor is cream and red whereas these are both red and white.
also the 1.6 is year 2000 and the 1.4 was year 1998.
hope the loom isnt damaged, that would be a bitch to change

i would disconnect the mounts and the exhaust, so the engine is floating in the bay and change the loom and check everything urself

If your still having no joy.....did you get the transponder from the key for the new ecu? If your missing this, its effectively immobilized, so there will be no spark.

Do you have earths to the ignition rail on that loom?
I had 3 on mine, won't work if they're not connected. Hunt round, get the wire brush out and spruce the earths up .

As long as the light stays on, when you turn the ignition on, and doesn't flash.

Theres more than one code there. It flashes the same code three times. At the end of the vid, a new code is flashing.
The first code is 1231
1231=Fuel pump relay
Try changing the relay

the vid needs to be longer i think.plus those codes are making no sense.it should start with 12 but yours start going into other codes.the only code i think i see being repeated is 31 but theres not even a code 31 for that ecu.are you sure you have wired it all in correct?do a longer video.
