say if this happened again in the spce of a month, what would you say the problem is? the steering lock?

So do you need to use a different key or can you get ones for certain models. Reason i ask is wont you have to change the transponder thing and get the key chipped

no mate you just take the chip out of the old key and put it in the new one

The steering lock is part of the barrel housing, you can remove it and lube it with teflon and silicone lube, it will have sheer bolts so that makes it a little more interesting to remove
