did u do a before and after on the rollers or just after u fitted the powerbox. you never know the previous owner might have stuck a 1.6 in. no 2 engines are the same anyway so it might just be a good engine.

Sounds like it could be a healthy 1.6 but still 120bhp on a 1.6 would be a massive gain

something dogie going on.it could have something to do with the head been skimmed twice,it would increase the compression ratio so in theory it would produce a bigger bang wich means more ponies.could be wrong though,ill let yous know once i have done my engine

If it was a healthy 1.4 it would need a set of cams and some head work to get near 120bhp

its a 1.4 i swear on my life, my brother had it before me and when i had it before i put inlet on it, it felt quick but my mate cud keep up in his 1.4 astra, now after iv put it on, it pulls really hard and i leave my mate in his 1.4 quite abit. my car doesnt have very much torque so when i have a passenger it doesnt pull so well, but on my own its alot better. its a 1.4 16v tho, i just dont understand how its got 30hp+ just from the inlet and piper X filter. would the overfuelin casue more power?

Was yours the only car on the rolling road that day or where there many others to help gauge how accurate the rollers where? 30bhp up does sound a little supspect with just those mods.Shame you didnt get a before and after reading.
My x16xe made 121bhp recently with the only mod being a power box .That was at a vauxhall rolling road day with about 18 other cars which all seemed to give out the readings expected on the rollers, which kind of gives a good indication they where accurate.

There were about 12 other cars on the rollers that day, it was a astra owners club meet at a vauxhall specialist garage, Mid point garage was the name of the place if uv heard of it?
