Its not always that good usually 25-40 but at work I seem to get 60ish all the time. Very impressed. Actually quicker than connecting to wifi too.

If 4g is that good how come we cant have this in our homes using there network? Its surely cheaper than paying £15 a month bt line rental then how ever much extra for fibre and this is permantly wifi? Or is it not that simple i understand traffic but still?

You can - buy a 4G dongle but prepare to get stuffed with bandwidth usage limits and resulting costs.
Edit - EE currently charge £25.99 for 8GB of 4G data

Thats not much more expensive than sky offer for there phone line and bb? Still if the network was strong enough it could be so much easier than having it down a line thats been there 50 years!

It'll come down in price in a few years.
Bit pointless of BT rolling out all that fibre though when 4G is that good.

Yep 4g has got to be the future. Ffs sake i cant get wifi on my 3rd story house but can get 3g no bother! Think 4g on ya phone is a little pointless i think tho

No, it isn't and can't be due to the nature of how it works. Plus the cost of providing the infrastructure (building new towers, adding backhaul connectivity) to handle such capacity would be horrendous.
Where it makes sense to deploy 'broadband' 4G are in broadband 'blackspots' where it isn't feasible to lay cable/fibre.

You've got to remember it's FTTC not FTTH, so you're still limited by the copper (or aluminium) cabling and length between your property and the fibred cabinet in the street.

4G won't be keeping those speeds up when it's realistically priced and everyone is on it, by which time phones and mobile devices will be even more data hungry.
