well ive not been pulled yet and ive got a 2.5''straight through system from the turbo in my 5! thats louder then my corsa anyday! just that they prob had nothing better to do!cops 4 ya

If u change ur exhaust after the date of manufacture and its louder than standard ur fucked.

Agree with this noise is just come with the increase in power, Also its an improved part as its stainless steel. If it is ilegal we should be told that when buying the stuff. Fancy number plates are always sold for "show" use on them

if it is illegal to have a louder zorst, etc etc, then why are suppliers selling them....and why arent we told this by them or feds...
end of the day, suppliers are genuwine, but they make the money, cops take away our money, so we've left empty handed 
they moan about tints, neons etc etc!

The post is correct, ANY exhaust louder than the tandard one is illegal and u can be fined for having it on there, so some mild stell zorsts are illegal too, not just stainlesss ones....

I would take it to your local SVA testing place. because if they pass tit then the police can't say sh*te about it.
It's also worht pointing out the engine is not the one that cam ewith the car, hence you can put a exhaust on to suit the engine that is put in.

all you saying the police cant do this, the police can do that dont know what your on about, technically it is down to the coppers discresion whether or not your exhaust is too loud, as the law is on his side, if your exhaust makes more noise than a standard technically he can make you remove it.
not everyone wants to hear an exhaust that sounds like a jumbo jet, my car is pretty loud, but if i get pulled its my fault.
seems simple to me

What you are saying is any comapny that makes an after market Zorst cannot sell it to the general public to fit.
They can only sell them to the car manufactores like Magnex do for Aston Martin and BMW Mini etc?

It cant be down to if you change it from standard, coz all zorst sound different a scooby is alot louder than a corsa as standard.....
It defo something to do with decibells.... they must be a limit that you can go to before its illegal.
I found this in the 'LAW'
the noise measured at 0.5 metres from the exhaust outlet at 45 degrees to the axis of the outlet pipe in a horizontal plane, shall not exceed 101db(A).

if this is the case, then surely almost all rally cars are illegal. seems that there is a lot interpretation with regards to this - i'd say a decent lawyer would be able to sort it out. use the motor legal protection provided with your insurance/RAC legal advice if you have it, good luck.
